There’s a lot happening in Teens in Ministry!
Tuesday, August 1st – Worthy of the Call Training for anyone 14-17 years old looking for volunteer here at SJE. This training will begin at 3 p.m. and should last about 90 minutes. Please RSVP to Colleen Sisolak if you plan to attend.
Friday, August 4th – GUPPY GULCH!! There are already 31 people signed-up to join us on this trip!! Don’t miss your opportunity. Cost is $24 pp. Everyone is asked to join us at Guppy Gulch in Delta PA at 10 a.m.. Bring your lunch, Guppy Gulch Liability Waiver, Archdiocesan Permission Slip and $24 in cash to join us. You are also welcome to bring extra spending money for their snack bar which is open during lunch. Everyone should be picked-up at 3 p.m.
Monday-Wednesday, August 7th-9th – Delaware Work Camp. We will leave at 9 a.m. from St. Francis De Sales in Abingdon and return on Wednesday after lunch. We will be serving at Friendship House, an organization that serves the poor in Wilmington DE. We will meet some of their clients, work in their clothing bank, as well as assist in their day shelter. We will stay at Jesus House, a retreat center near by. SPACE IS LIMITED!! Please RSVP today. Cost is $30 pp plus money for lunch on the way home on Wednesday. (All youth volunteers MUST have a volunteer application on file and 3 references)
Wednesday, August 9th – For those looking to serve locally, we have a group volunteering for Camp GLOW. This is a camp for special needs adults throughout the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Please arrive at the O’Dwyer Retreat House in Sparks by 9 a.m. and report to Mrs. Kellie Reynolds. You MUST be Shield the Vulnerable Certified to assist with this trip
Saturday and Sunday, August 26th and 27th – We will be hosting a car wash fundraiser. If you are willing to come help wash cars during Masses that weekend please let us know. Please understand that you are still expected to fulfill your Sunday obligation of attending Mass. (All Youth volunteers MUST have a volunteer application ole and 3 references)
Saturday, September 9th – Fr. Leo Returns!! If you missed him the first time, you certainly wont want to miss him again. Fr. Leo Patalinghung is a national speaker who beat Bobby Flay in a cooking contest. He will be here to celebrate Mass with us at 5 p.m., then lead us in a cooking demonstration, dinner, questions and answers, followed by dinner. Cost of the Meal and Talk is $20 pp.
