Season of Creation

Starting September 1-October 4 is the Season of Creation.  A time to pray, reflect, act and spread the good news of Church teaching on caring for creation.   As we know, Pope Francis has called us to address this issue with faith, hope, love and action.  These are some resources you can use. and click on Roman Catholic.  Wonderful resources for the entire year!! The blessing of Animals is very good.

This web site  the Pope speaking about the climate crisis. is an excellent web site for Church teaching on care for creation.

Recently, Pope Francis delivered a video message during the opening plenary of the United Nations General Assembly in which he stated:

“While the situation is not good and the planet is suffering, the window of opportunity is still open. Despite everything. Let us not let it close. Let us open it with our determination to cultivate integral human development, to ensure a better life for future generations.”

The time to take action is NOW. The United States must lead on climate action and the US Senate must ensure that we participate in international agreements which seek to prevent the impacts from climate change from doing irreparable harm to our common home and our shared future.

During this Season of Creation, and in the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi, whose Feast Day we celebrate on October 4th, we urge you to sign the Senate Petition for International Climate Action.
