May 21 Daily Prayer & Update

Today’s Prayer – May 21

by Sr. Carol Czyzewski, Director of Adult Faith Formation
Without seeing You, we believe!  Lord Jesus, Your Ascension is a mystery beyond human understanding. Yet, it sets Your promise “I am with you always” explicitly into our lives.
You entrust us to go, make disciples, baptize, and teach all that You commanded. Keep us faithful to Your will and expectations.
On Ascension Thursday, in Your true presence, we celebrate Your being with us in every sacrament, in every scripture and prayer, in our every loving self-giving act among Your beloved on earth.
Guided by Your Holy Spirit, we humbly pray: show us the way to go make disciples, followers who will reveal You, here and now, as we live and serve in Your Holy Name…until You come again–full of glory–into our sight!
Today, in the midst of the pandemic, open wide our hearts, hands, and voices to assure Your loving presence among the dying, the suffering, the needy, and the unbelievers. Without You, we humans falter and turn to sinful divisions with selfish impatience and rash judgments. Please, dear Lord Jesus, Son of God our Father, send us healing and forgiveness through Your Holy Spirit. Amen.
