June 5 Daily Prayer & Update

Today’s Prayer – June 5

by Theresa Konitzer, Director of Religious Education

Heavenly Father, in today’s reading, Paul is speaking with Timothy about the ways he has followed Paul.

Heavenly Father, even though our world appears to be turned upside down, put on its sides, and shaken, there are many good models for us to follow.

Thank You for the gift of these people, who are examples of Your peace and calm amidst anguish and despair.

Thank You for giving people the courage to protest the horrible injustices in our society against our brothers and sisters of color.

Thank You for putting people in our lives who exhibit true wisdom and understanding to see viewpoints from all perspectives before making rash decisions.

Jesus, in Your mercy, hear our prayers as we as a country and world are faced with so many problems. Unite us as Your people to follow Your example of love in all that we do.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Daily readings can be found on the USCCB website here.

Today’s Update – June 5

Thinking about coming to Mass this weekend? Be sure to watch our Reopening Guidance Video for all you need to know.  For additional reopening information, check out our website: http://www.sjehydes.org/reopening-info/.

If you decide to come to Mass this weekend, kindly sign up by 4 PM on Saturday, June 6 using Sign Up Genius to facilitate the check-in process.
Please recognize that online sign-up is intended to facilitate the record-keeping of those who have attended Mass at St. John for contact tracing purposes. Signing up will help save time when you arrive to check in before Mass, but please understand that signing up in advance does not reserve or guarantee seating. We will do our best to accommodate as many people as possible between the church and the church hall, both of which have limited capacity. We hope you understand these limitations for your health and safety.
To sign up:
  1. Click the link for the Mass you’d like to attend below.
  2. On the Sign-Up Genius page, click the “Sign Up” check box.
  3. Click “Submit and Sign Up” at the bottom of the page.
  4. Complete the form and click “Sign Up Now.”
Please note that if we reach maximum capacity in the church, we will offer a virtual Mass venue in the church hall with limited overflow capacity. We suggest arriving 15-20 minutes before the scheduled start of Mass.
