June 4 Daily Prayer & Update

Today’s Prayer – June 4

by Sr. Carol Czyzewski, Director of Adult Faith Formation

O God, Divine Love, Divine Mercy, we turn to Your Gospel message, praying that it will penetrate the conscience and spirit of every person who yearns for justice and healing in the midst of racism and violence. Our cities and the entire world desperately need Your remedy to convert hearts according to Your greatest law:

Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is Lord alone! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

May the thoughts, attitudes, and actions of this country’s citizens obey Your compassionate guidance to love You, others, and ourselves!

May each of us have the humility and courage to see self in those whom we deem “different” in any way. Each person is Your beloved child. Each person is sister and brother to us. You identified Yourself with each one: whatever you do to them, you do to Me.

In the unconditional love of Your Sacred Heart, may each of us love as You command—otherwise, we remain powerless to bear the fruit of our hope for healing and peace!

We beg You in Your Holy Name.

Amen.
