Today’s Prayer – June 14
by Fr. Pete Literal, Pastor
Abba, Father in heaven, Amazing and Loving God, how wonderful is Your gift to us. We praise You and thank You for the Real Presence of Your love in the Eucharist. Your Real Presence sustains the world. Today, we celebrate the gift of the Body and Blood of Jesus. We bow our knees and profess the Real Presence of the body and blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ in the elements of, and under the appearance of, bread and wine in the Eucharist.
Reflecting on the readings, we see ourselves in the people of Israel, who in their flight from Egypt and journey in the desert depended on Your sustenance. You were faithful all the way in providing what they needed, despite their forgetfulness of who guided them, who quenched their thirst, and who fed their hunger. Today, we pray to You that as we traverse in this uncertain and unprecedented time, You may keep us alive in our journey, just as You gave manna to Your people in the desert. Let the Body and Blood of Jesus keep our souls alive in this desert of our earthly life, during this pandemic time.
Jesus, we praise You for the great gift of Yourself to us in the Eucharist. Your entire life was truly about giving Your life that we may live. Awesome are You that You are willing to give Yourself as our food and our drink! We praise You and thank You. We desire to be united with You. We ask Your Holy Spirit to strengthen our desires to
join ourselves to Your sacrifice that we may become bearers of Your presence and love for the life of the world. We ask this in Your most precious name.
Pray the Sacred Scripture and be transformed in spirit and truth.
