June 11 Daily Prayer & Update

Today’s Prayer – June 11

by Sr. Carol Czyzewski, Director of Adult Faith Formation

O God, who decreed that Saint Barnabas, a man filled with faith and the Holy Spirit, should be set apart to convert the nations, grant that the Gospel of Christ…may be faithfully proclaimed by word and by deed.  (Collect for St. Barnabus Memorial)

Through the example of St. Barnabas and first followers of Jesus, may we in our day recognize our baptismal call to “convert the nations.”  May we be filled with faith and the Holy Spirit to change hearts—starting with our own—hearts of family, friends, and even strangers, especially through lives of truth, humility, courage, conviction, and unconditional love.

May we relentlessly cooperate with safety measures during the coronavirus to ensure everyone’s health; may we advocate for racial equality in the midst of civil cries for humane systems of justice; may we remain steadfast in the spirit of Catholic Eucharistic worship until we celebrate in person with our parish community.  We raise these prayers to You, Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make our hearts like Yours!
