Today’s Prayer – July 3
by Theresa Konitzer, Director of Religious Education
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of faith. However, during this time of uncertainty, our faith and trust, perhaps even in You, is being challenged.
This is a good time to be honest, and ask the hard questions of Who? What? or Where? do I place my faith and trust? If it is in human beings, I must be prepared to be disappointed. If it is in things, I will see that objects have a short shelf life. If it is in my own accomplishments, I should take a moment to celebrate and thank You for giving me these special gifts.
Real faith and trust mean turning my life over to you God, my Creator. The One who knows me best. Like Thomas in today’s Gospel reading, my faith falters at times, especially when life becomes a little hilly. To have faith is a gift and not always easy to accept.
Jesus, give me the courage to remember that faith is about letting go and letting God.
