“September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and Major League Baseball and the Orioles dedicated September 1, to pediatric cancer awareness. As part of that initiative, today we welcomed 17-year-old Make-A-Wish Foundation member, Jimmy, of Fallston, Md. to Oriole Park. Jimmy was diagnosed with a brain tumor in January. Jimmy’s day at Oriole Park began by signing a contract from Orioles Executive Vice President of Baseball Operations, Dan Duquette, to become an honorary member of the Orioles team for the day. Jimmy also met players, coaches, & staff, including receiving a private clubhouse tour from his favorite player, Adam Jones. Among many other special activities, Jimmy also helped exchange tonight’s lineup card and threw the ceremonial first pitch. Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic”
